1917 Shikoku Pilgrimage

Before coming to Shikoku, Starr travelled along the Sanyo route and published his travel diary in a book entitled, Sanyo Angya. He finished in Hiroshima and took the ferry to Matsuyama. From here, he started his 10-day pilgrimage in Shikoku.

 His first Shikoku pilgrimage is published along with other travelogues to such places as Kyushu, Korea, Northern Japan and Mt Fuji in a book called Ofuda Angya (お札行脚).The chapter in which his pilgrimage is noted is Shikoku Angya.

In the Preface of Shikoku Angya, there is a description of Starr which states such things that his nickname is Ofuda Hakase....
